Fun on the Swiss ball.
A short but impressive rain storm swept through town last night around 7 p.m. while Brian was riding his bike. Snapped this photo today of a tree down on North East Street. The weather cleared up and we went to the Green River Festival in Greenfield, an event that seems well organized with quality food for sale but, alas, no beer.
Lou Ann Barton and Jimmie Vaughan from Austin, Texas, at the Green River Festival. They're a very competent act, but I have to say they didn't interact much with the audience, unless I missed it (we came a little late and left a little before they were done to avoid traffic). My favorite concerts are where the musicians tell stories or otherwise show some interest in the place they are and the people who came out to seem them. The best performer I ever saw in this respect was Wynton Marsalis at the Iron Horse. Here's a link to an earlier post in which I recount one of the amusing stories he told. What a raconteur!
After the concert we went to the People's Pint, in Greenfield, a place that never disappoints. There's a good art exhibit there now, but I didn't get the name of the artist. This looks to be a scene from Holyoke.
From the exhibit at the People's Pint now.

It's not as easy as it looks!
